The Concept of Trimurti
The Concept of Trimurti
The concept of "Trimurti" symbolizes the cosmic functions of creation, sustenance and destruction. These are personified by the forms of Brahma, the Creator, Vishnu the Preserver and Shiva, the Destroyer of evil.
Together they are the symbol of the Hindu Holy Trinity, and also embody the concept of unity in diversity, which is the fundamental guiding principle for Trimurti i.e All for One and One for All.
Brahma
The Creator
Brahma represents the creative force — the beginning of all things, the source from which all existence emerges.
Vishnu
The Preserver
Vishnu represents sustenance and preservation — maintaining balance, order and harmony in the universe.
Shiva
The Destroyer of Evil
Shiva represents transformation — the destruction of evil and what is no longer needed, making way for renewal.
Unity in Diversity
The Hindu Holy Trinity symbolizes the fundamental guiding principle for Trimurti — the idea that though different in nature, all three forces work in perfect harmony for the greater good.
